Telecommute - temp or perm

Generation Fifth Applications is the premier developer of library archival software.  For those to whom that means nothing:  Large libraries (e.g. Harvard University) generally have too many books to keep on their library shelves, and they keep these in a high-density storage facility.  Our job is to ensure that nothing ever gets lost.  (There is more to this than you might think.)  Remember the last scene from "Raiders of the Lost Ark"?  If they had our software, they'd be able to find that crate.

This is an opportunity to influence the future of a vital and growing organization.  We are looking for creative, independent programmers to help document and modernize our existing CHUI applications.  We need a permanent employee, but would consider bringing on a contractor in the short term.

The job will initially entail

1)  Analyzing and documenting an existing CHUI application

2)  Establishing new source control and release procedures

3)  Adding new features and a web interface to the system

This position requires someone with strong analytical skills, a willingness to learn, and an ability to work independently.  Your ideas and creative input will always be welcomed here.  If interested, contact gfa-employment@gfatech.com.  Please indicate whether you are interested in contract or permanent employment.
