Progress OpenEdge Developer in UK (Midlands)

Key Responsibilities

• Work with the team to interpret user requirements into deliverable code and modules using the Business Requirement Documents (BRD), specifications and supporting documentation. 
• Working with users, designers and other team members to create high quality finished programmes and system  functions:
  • Carry out software development as a member of the Development Team
  • Work closely with the System Designers and Support Analysts to provide the required solution
  • To cover the development of core components and systems.
  • To provide development resource to the support and customer services team when required
• Review / testing of own and others’ work
• Program to  the Prima defined standards and scheduled timescales
• Provide technical support / programming solutions for the product:
  • As part of the team, ensure the product is correctly documented and deliverable.
  • Hand-over of solutions to internal and external customers
  • Support and Implementation teams
  • Fulfil other duties as may be required from time to time.

Key Competencies

• Programming and Technical Skills:
  • Extensive knowledge of programming in Process 10.2B or higher
  • GUI Programming with smart objects
  • Understanding of ADM2
  • Experience of n-tier technology
  • Programmed in an appserver environment
  • Basic understanding of the table and index structures of a Process database
  • Ability to debug programming and performance issues

• Other Skills:
  • Ability to understand and developer from a functional specification
  • Understanding and use of source control systems
  • Basic understanding of programming methodologies
