Progress Developer (Programmer/Analyst) – Philadelphia Pennsylvania

Because our business is growing, we are looking to add another Progress Programmer to our team!

This is an ONSITE full-time employee position, in Philadelphia zip code 19114.

S Walter Packaging is a 110-year-old Philadelphia-based retail packaging distribution company. 

This is a Development role working on enhancing all facets of our corporate ERP and thereby our business!

Our ERP is written in Progress, and has grown to over one million lines of Progress 4GL / Progress OpenEdge ABL. 

Specifically, Progress version 10 character-mode, and with web portals as front-ends.  We continue to modernize with more web functionality.

This person will be part of a small team that reviews, analyzes, and modifies the ERP on a daily basis, as well as implementing new functionality.

Required Skills:

• Several years of experience with Progress 4GL / Progress OpenEdge ABL  programming and business analysis

• Prior experience with one or more ERP is a plus!

• Knowledge of HTML is a plus!

• Knowledge of Linux, LAMP, and PHP is a plus!

• Motivated, professional, enthusiastic, and results-oriented.

• He/she must have the ability to work with all levels of staff within the company.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• General business acumen with demonstrated ability to understand business need and recommend and implement optimum improvements, within business constraints
