Policy of installing service packs

We have a situation now, with our 7.0.1 installation becoming unavailable for clients. Of course, I have reported this to TechSupport, but I suspect an upgrade to 7.0.2 is on the list of things I will have to do. This is ok, as long as the process is fairly straight forward with no manual steps that need to be taken. Should the service packs be installed whenever they become available from Sonic?

I could say 'Sure!' but it really depends on your situation and environment. With this, I mean how much process do you have to go through to get a service pack installed, tested and approved? In general, service packs fix issues and make the product better, but a service pack fix (or fixes, or changes) might not be relevant to your situation. In any case, you would like to know the impact of a service pack to your application environment (good or bad)!

So, I would say to base your decision to upgrade on well known information and test results. Or, if you don't care, just upgrade!
