Sonic ESB Containers

Posted by Admin on 15-Jan-2009 06:14

Hi,

Can I know

How to transfer a sonic esb project source to a different computer and configure it.

I used "ESB Deployment Export tool" to export and "ESB Deployment Import tool" to import it.

Then I exported the file system to my destination.

when I go to Sonic Management Console, It doesnt show the containers that I have created,

but when I try to import the configuration it says container already exist do you want to overwrite it.

Please give me solution for this...

Thanks in advance

I can think of two possibilities

1. The ESB Export tool exports the ESB configs, but does not make the Management Framework containers. You should see the ESB Containers in the ESB Configurations section of SMC, so make sure you are looking there.

2. The SMC does not automatically refresh to see changes made by the Deploy Import tool. If the configurations are successfully added, you may need to either exit and restart SMC, or find the "Refresh" button on the ESB Container list pane.

This works fine for me. Maybe I don't understand what it is you are doing. The steps you mention are:

I used "ESB Deployment Export tool" to export and "ESB Deployment Import tool" to import it.

Then I exported the file system to my destination.

The steps you should go through are to:

-- start the ESB Deployement Export tool

-- connect to the domain on one computer

-- Choose a container (confirm it is what you want)

-- save it as a .xar file

You may or may not want to move the .xar file to a new computer -- it does not need to be on the new machine.

Next, you should open the .xar file in the Deploy Import tool.

-- connect to the target Domain Manager

-- change the option to Overwrite Existing

-- Import

You will need to refresh SMC to see this.

Hi William,

Thanks,

It's clear...

I think I did it in a wrong way. I couldn't select the container that I want.

I'll try and see

Thanks
