Building Workspace Slow (Sonic 8.5)

Every time I upload a Service Type the Workbenck starts "Building Workspace...", which takes around 5 minutes.

It doesn't happen when I upload a Sonic Connect configuration or Process.

What does Building Workspace do?

Why does it take so long?

How can I speed it up?

Environment:

- i7, 8GB running Windows 7 x64 and JDK 1.6_29 x64

- 7 Sonic and 3 other projects

- 300 Processes

- 80 Web Services

- 26 Java Service Types

Wasn't a very helpful response

Apart from "Building Workspace" being slow after uploading a JST, they get slower the more times I do them and eventually (after about 6 or 8 times)  workbench crashes during the "Building Workspace" with an error about "Out of heap space".
