Usage of UML diagrams in documents

One thing you'll notice when reading the new papers on the OpenEdge Reference Architecture is that we've used UML diagrams to try visualize concepts and program flows. I myself like using UML diagrams to make designs and runtime behavior visible. What about you? Does using UML to describe design and behavior make it easier to grasp concepts? Should we continue to provide this or maybe expand or descrease the use of UML? Are the UML diagrams at the right detail level? Need more detail? Maybe less? Let us know your preference on the use of UML.
