We've created a new category under the OpenEdge Principles area entitled "SOA for OpenEdge", where we will be posting papers and presentations intended to stimulate thought and discussion on how the whole notion of a Service-Oriented Architecture maps to the kind of work that has to be done to create new application modules in OpenEdge and to adapt existing business logic in OpenEdge applications to the requirements of a larger world of services. The first two papers posted in the area are a starting point for that discussion, as well as providing some examples and guidance on using the latest OpenEdge features, including support for accessing Web services and exposing ABL procedures as Web services. Your comments and your participation are encouraged.
