We find that in a remote desktop session that we see multiple 'reconnect 1 of 20 attempts' messages.
Is this to be expected, and is there a way to prevent it?
Hi John,
the Remote Desktop can disconnect for many reasons, from a network problem to a firewall idle timeout. You may not have much control over the connection being dropped. However, you can stop the automatic retry of the reconnect by Remote Desktop. In the Remote Desktop --> Options --> Experience Tab you can uncheck the "Reconnect if connection is dropped" check box.

I've been doing this for years now and sometimes I'll have rdp up for weeks and sometimes just for minutes. Generally the disconnect is out of your control. You may want to shout at your service provider.
