Period in DLC name

I am getting a -5001 error installing 11.6.2 and the support tech has suggested that it might be the period in my install directory  C:\apps\psc\11.6    I have been using paths like this forever.   Has anyone else had the experience of period in the path name causing a problem?

That is incorrect. I’ve been installing to C:\Progress\OpenEdgexx.x for 20 years. The xx.x is version number.

Well, so have I ... for 30 .... but 11.6.2?

Turns out that the problem was an admin service process that was still running, even though Windows thought it was stopped.
