Webclient

Hi According to my understanding of a webclient application, if a new version of webclient is detected on the client side when opening the application, it should automatically download the new version of webclient and NOT take you to the website where the user would now have to click on "download" to download the new webclient. Am I correct in saying this? If I am correct what needs to be changed in order to download the new webclient automatically and not be taken to the website where the user would have to download it?????? What I have done so far is instead of pointing to the website to download the new webclient I have and exe that installs webclient... so the client is pointed to this exe which then automatically goes into download list in internet explorer. However the user still needs to click run in order to run the exe... Is there anyway to run this automatically? TIA

[mention:3679e78932e34537a8dc1e98aefb850e:e9ed411860ed4f2ba0265705b8793d05], As far as I remember, when a new version of webclient is available, it will take the user to website where user needs to click on "Install" link

The WebClient based application (your R-Code, images, Active X Components, .NET Assemblies, ...) can be updated as soon as a new version of the application is available. This is pretty easy and painfree also for regular users.

When you need to upgrade the Progress Version this requires running an installer.

You may get in touch with http://riverside-software.fr/ and chat about their PADEO which provides simplified WebClient deploymnet.
