Can 64bit run 32bit rcode an vice-versa

Can 64bit run 32bit rcode an vice-versa ?

  • Is it supported
  • if supported, do you recommend it ?

In my experience it's best to recompile the application after a service pack installation(*). So I think moving 32 bit to 64 bit is certainly a reason to recompile but maybe I'm to careful here.

I don't have 32 and 64 bit of the same version/platform available so I can verify this at the moment.

It depends on your Progress version. As far as I know the rcode is bitwise compatible in V11. The issue you'll have is with anything else it connects to such as OCXs and DLLs.

Yes with 11 the rcode is the same for 32 or 64 bit.
