Currently we are running Progress 8.3B, character-based, on SCO Openserver 5.0.5.
We want to have a web application call Progress procedures from Java.
Version 8.3B cannot do this, and you need Openlink to connect to the database.
I have been informed that upgrading to 9.1B will allow us to do this, but I can't get any confirmation from anyone at Progress. In particular I'm concerned about SCO Openserver and no SQL-92 support, but this may just reveal my lack of knowledge of the whole process.
Can I go to my client and confidently tell them to spend the $50K for the upgrade? Or will I be horribly fired after we upgrade and realize we still have to use Openlink?
