It seems to me that there is a good amount of work involved upgrading the HP-UX OS and Progress to the 64-bit version. Does anyone know what types of performance gains are typical from this upgrade? Could it, for example, help a system that is CPU bound?

The biggest gain is in the memory size, CPU bound is exceedingly rare and not likely.
