Hi
I am fairly new to DB administration so sorry if
this is a stupid question....I want to take a
snapshot of our database on a monthly basis for
reporting so big reports don't impact on day-to
-day usage. The idea is that these reports could run from MSAccess on this 'snapshot'.
The question is how do I get a 'snapshot' ? Do I
want to do a dump ? does this give me a copy of
the data or does it move the data out of the
database ?
we are currently running progress 8.3b on
solaris 2.6, DB size approx 2GB
(about to upgrade to progress version9)
Any alternative ideas welcome !
