Problem in starting Database using Proserve command

Hai All!

I am new to progress world. I am trying to use SQL explorer. for that i need

to start database first.

I am trying the same using proserve command.

But i am getting some error for which i donn have any solution.. I am giving

the command below.

D:\>proserve sports2000

PROGRESS Version 9.1C as of Thu Jun 7 04:57:48 EDT 2001

10:04:25 BROKER : This broker will terminate when session ends. (5405)

10:04:26 BROKER : You are not allowed to connect to a database in $DLC. (1379)

10:04:26 BROKER : ** This process terminated with exit code 1. (8619)

Pls help me by suggesting what to do. Also in syntax of proserver command given

that

C:\Program Files\Progress\bin\proserve -S <service-name> <database-name>

can anybody of u suggesr what is and where can we find the service name mentioned

above.

Copy the sport2000 database out of the Progress directory and start it from

there. Usually Progress create a directory called wrk (working dir) just copy

or create a new database nad save them to wrk. THis sould solve your problem.

I have the same issue and I solved it by copying the sport2000 to other directory.
