Possible, there is database, working in mode 24/7/365.
Shutdown it is impossible, as be if necessary to install Service Pack.
Recently Progress accents its attention on online work with database, but as on count online installation Service Pack?
what work in this area, or be can already there is possibility?
I can't see Progress ever allowing online SP installs because files that are in use at the time of installation will never get updated (_mprosrv is the one that comes to mind) and that will cause instability if support files are updated (most Progress online utilities are very sensitive to shared memory versions)..
If the system is running 24/7/365 and there are no problems, what would the reason for installing a Service Pack?
If there is a critical error that affects the business and it is fixed in a SP, then downtime must be scheduled for maintenance and installation of the SP..
