Just got a new machine (old one decided to commit hari-kiri), and stupidly didn't realise that it had 64-bit windows 7 on it. Installed 32 bit 10.2B, working away quite happily.
Then I got a gpf in the data dictionary - and read this morning that 32bit Openedge is not supported on 64bit windows 7.
Nevermind, I'll download the 64 bit version of Openedge.
It's not there. Only the 32 bit.
Does this mean I have to a) upgrade my platform licence or b) buy a new verision just to run a 64-bit version of the product I already have ?
Please say that this is just an oversight and I should be able to download a 64bit version. Please
Julian
Hi Julian,
I have been using Windows 7 64-bit for a long time with 32-bit OE 10.2B - no problems at all. I don't see the need to jump on to 64-bit OE - unless all of your other environments ate 64-bit. Otherwise you are going to get all sorts of issues with r-code compatibility.
Regards
Thomas
Should have read my PEG mail before replying ;-) I can see others are having problems as well. I haven't run into issues (yet) though....
