Valid characters for formatting data types

OpenEdge 11.7

I am looking for the documentation that list and describe the valid characters for formatting the different data types, but I cannot locate it.

It explains what different characters are valid for different data types, e.g. a numeric can be formatted using "> Z * 9", character data types can use "X ! N"  as well as what each character did for that  data type.

The data dictionary's help lists a limited number of these, but the list is definitely not complete.

Does anybody know where this is properly documented and could you please point me to the relevant documentation?

Regards

Simon

Thanks Juan. The first link contains what I was looking for.

I wonder why this is not in the language reference.
