Hi Stefan,

I imagine you’re not suggesting Progress should migrate their plugins to IDEA as you probably don’t care much about that.

However, even the author suggest that idea editor is better when it comes of java development, there are lots of javscript plugins available for both ide’s as well as stand-alone editors but comparing plug-ins doesn’t mean one ide is better as a platform… nevertheless, the author is doing just that basically, comparing the java plugins of eclipse and idea and for some reasons he favours one over the other. This is perfectly ok, one should use what ever works best for him, please allow us the mere mortals to not take that as an absolute truth :)

That's right. I can work with oe & eclipse. No wish for an intellij oe-plugin. But I'm more enthousiast about intellij. Just discovering it, I have never tried it before. The article is a good one though I find, it mentions important differences. But I'm not a specialist in this area, cannot give a thorough comparison myself of course, just wanted to mention the existence of an interesting competitor of eclipse.

Have to admin I’m not a big fan of keyword shortcuts (also a slow typer) so what is important for one doesn’t make me too enthusiastic… however, I do think it’s good alternatives exists (did used netbeans before eclipse).

It's for everyone to try out themselves. My impression was that is is a lot better than eclipse. Before I read the article and before knowing much shortcuts.
