Dear Everyone,

Greetings! Can I connect Microsoft SQL Server 2012 as my database in OpenEdge 11.6 ? I am new in this programming language, I hope you will help me. Thanks!

Hello Arjon,

you need an additional product from Progress, the OpenEdge DataServer for MS SQL Server:

documentation.progress.com/.../index.html

This DataServer will take your ABL finds and queries and translate them to SQL.

But as I said, you need separate licenses for that :)

How does the licensing for this work (at a high level)?  Is it about concurrent connections to SQL?    Is there a link for that too?
