Still a problem without external scripts to provide a return code to the calling env.

It's needed for automation tools like Automic(UC4) and many attendees voted for that in Gus session in Dusseldorf last year.
No, that is not in 11.6.
I believe there are no current plans for supporting this functionality at this point.
