Anyone running PDSOE 11.5.1 on Windows 10?

Posted by PapaLee on 06-Nov-2015 11:32

I know 11.5.1 is not yet certified on Windows 10 (I don't believe any of the products are yet). Is anyone running this configuration? If so have you run into any problems? Any pointers, etc.?

Note, this is for development only. The production environment is ChUI on AIX and still on 10.2b.

TIA

We have tested our 11.4 application and have found no issues. We have end users running as well with no reported issues.

Good to hear this is running smoothly so far.

From tech support perspective, I've not seen cases yet that are specific to Windows 10 either (caveat: I'm not guaranteed to be aware of every case logged.)

As reminder, we *do* offer best effort support ahead of certification as per  knowledgebase.progress.com/.../Is-Windows-10-supported-with-OpenEdge

So if you do decide to run on Windows 10, and if you do run into issues, please open a support case as we do want to know about it.

Hi,

we have seen some issues with path name and package name casing (Same problem with 10.2B on Windows 10)

When we don't use same case in package and directory name.

But problem with 11.5.1 seems to have solved itself. So maybe a Microsoft bug, that has been solved in an update from MS!?

This has been reported to support.

Using PDSOE 11.5.1 on w10 since windows 10 launch, not any problem, except for a problem that had since 11.4:

when using the properties dialog of a widget (on UIB)  after accepting it, It throws several errors:

_U record not exist (138)

Invalid handle. not initialized or points to deleted object (3135)

Could not find target for instruction apply (do_choose_prop_sheet adeuib/_uibmain.p:9972) (3190)

(pardon my english, I get spanish messages)

As I have not seen any side effects, I disregard them...

Any way, I have 11.2, 11.3 11.5 client networkings runnig on w7 and w10 (wise move was to skip w8) and not any problem so far.

Greetings
