From OpenEdge Policy Guide:

Progress OpenEdge RDBMS Personal RDBMS: Single-user local database for development and deployment. Includes application execution system for local application deployment and client networking for access to remote servers or OpenEdge DataServers. Includes support for OpenEdge SQL and drivers for ODBC and JDBC to access it. Includes character client support.

NOTE: Does not support remote client connections.

Thanks Andriy. What about large file support?

Neither personal nor workgroup DB have large files support.

Thanks Libor. Was aware of Workgroup having that restriction. Would it reasonable to say that all restrictions in Workgroup over Enterprise are also present in Personal?

It would be. Personal is at the "bottom" of the DB "chain" feature(s) wise.

Smashing. Thanks Libor. Just having a play with it all and wanting to get an idea of what's there. :)

personal db allows a very limited number of connections - 5, i think. also, you cannot connect to the database from another machine. network connections allowed only from the same machine.
