11.3.2 Update

Posted by mflanegan on 28-Aug-2014 02:27

HI there,

We have updated our developer studio to 11.3.2, we have also installed the hotfix patch for OE mobile. We are also using a .net webclient with infragistics controls.

We are having issues with the new .dll files not going over with the web client updates.

Has anyone perhaps got a solution for this?

Hi Anil

We found the issue. The web client wasn’t pushing the correct dll files for the ultra controls. All is working fine now.

Thanks for the help.

Hi mflanegan,

I think this is because of the .NET dll’s loading issue after the patch installation.

The readme file of the patch possess following notes:

14. When running PDSOE or .NET code in the procedure editor, if you encounter
the following errors:
Java was started but returned exit code=1
    C:\Progress\DeveloperStudio#.#\jre\bin\javaw.exe
    -Xms40m
    -Xmx384m
    -Dosgi.framework-extensions=com.openedge.keybiding.hook
    -XX:MaxPermSize=256m
    -jar
    ...
you must unblock these .NET dlls:
    $DLC\bin\dotnetmsgs\Progress.Messages.dll
    $DLC\bin\Progress.clrbridge.dll
    $DLC\bin\Progress.NetUI.dll

Go to the dll's file properties, in the security section under the General
tab there will be an Unblock Button. Select this for each dll. After the changes
have been applied the Progress Development Studio will launch successfully.

Once the .NET related dlls are unblocked everything should work fine.

Following are the set of steps (at high level) for applying the 11.3.x patch:

1)      Extract the patch files to specific (OpenEdge) installation location

2)      Perform integrateArchitect.bat –update operation which will update the plugins

3)      Unblock the .NET dll files

Hope this helps.

Thanks and Regards,
Anil Kumar.
