[icf-dev] Parent Fields on Lookups

Posted by LegacyUser on 12-Feb-2003 02:29

Hi,

Setup:

Dynamic Browser and Static viewer on a Dependent Window.

I have tried to set a parent field, Parent Filter query on a Dynamic Lookup,

on a viewer with no success. When the viewer is run the lookup returns a ?

even though the Lookup query is 100% correct.

The data returned in the Lookup browser appears to be correct.

When I remove the parent field, Parent Filter query and specifiy everything

on the Base Query string in the dynamic lookup, or I manipulate the lookup

from code (ie: in displayfields) then everything works properly.

I have examined the document 'SmartDataField Maintenance Functional

Specification from 10-01-2002' but with no success.

Has anyone experienced similar problems with Parent fields on dynamic

lookups ?

Your suggestions are most welcome.

Kind regards and thanks

Hi,

Could you perhaps add a screen-shot of the parent field and parent filter

query from the SDF Maintenance tool (property sheet) and also explain what

fields are on your viewer as well as the field you are using as a parent

field?

Do a screen-shot and add it to a Word Doc and attach it to your e-mail.

I haven't seen a problem with parent filter queries.

Also, are you running V2 or V2SP1?
