Hi,
If you have a window in Dynamics with a Tab Folder on it, the initial size of the window is based
on the size of the viewer on the 1st tab.
If the viewer on the 2nd tab is wider, then the window dynamically widens to accommodate the larger
viewer.
I thought this was a bug but notice it is still there in Dynamics 2 SP1.
Is there any way of making the initial window size wide enough to accommodate the largest tab size?
(Shouldn't this be standard, default behaviour?)
Regards, Cheryl.
Hi Cheryl,
A quick note on this. When you have selected the second tab, the container
is sized to accomodate the larger page - like you said. When the window is
closed, the current window position and size is saved if the preference is
turned on for this (but by default I think it is). You can check your
preference settings by selecting 'File' -'Preferences' from either the
Development or Administration menus. All of that born in mind: When the
container is launched again, it will be sized to its saved size, which means
that selecting the larger page won't cause a resize on the container.
Alternatively, on the container, you can set the 'initialPageList'
property to * (asterisk). This will cause the container to initialize all
pages when the container starts up and therefore calculate the correct size
of the container before it is visualized. However, this might cause a longer
startup time for the container, as all objects will be initialized. This
includes SDOs - which would fetch their data etc.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Chris
