Hi,
In OE11 Progress Developer Studio (formerly OE Architect) there is a new option to exclude files/folders from build.
Great, only when adding a file/folder a full build job is always started, which I don't need so I have to cancel it, which takes quite some time on our workspace.
Is there any way to prevent this full build job from starting? I've already tried turning off "Build automatically" but to avail.
Thanks,
Lieven

Hi Lieven,
Certainly not PSC's official response, but I usually kill the project AVM (prowin32.exe) when I do larger changes like moving around directories etc. Shoudl work in this situation as well and once your finished you might restart the project AVM.
Hi Mike,
A rather extreme solution but I'll keep it in mind if no "real" solution pops up
You can also add files/folders from the Project properties > Build > Source window without starting a build, but that's a little less practical than doing it directly from the main window...
Does just (temporarily) deselecting the 'Build Automatically' option help?

Hi Peter,
Like I said in my initial post, turning off "Build Automatically" doesn't help.

Lieven
My apologies. I clearly didn't read that post properly :-/

If 'Build automatically' doesn't prevent the build from running automatically, then I'd speak to Tech Support for further help (I do not know enough about the internals of the build functionality to say absolutely whether this is a bug or not).
