Are there a set of hooks for OE Studio that I can use to run external code / scripts ?
For example, I want to know when a user opens or closes a project, or invokes a certain menu command

There are event notification hooks for both OEA and OE Studio. There are some significant differences between OEA events and OE Studio events, but they are there. For OEA, look under the customization section in the online docs for OEA. For OE Studio, they are the same as ever: the _adeevnt.p procedure that can be customized.
I suppose one might wonder whether OE Studio = OpenEdge Studio as per versions prior to 11.0 or it means Progress Developer Studio [for OpenEdge] fka OpenEdge Architect.
BTW, the title of this forum is much too long. When I get e-mail notices the whole visual subject is taken up with the name of the forum and I can't see anything of the subject of the post.
