Hi,
My Open Architect installation is running so slowly as to be amost unusable. The first few minutes everything seems fine but after a few operations the application gets slower and slower until it feezes.
The task manager shows that the java process associated with the app is consuming large amounts of memory.
I have tried adjusting the start-up parameters but this made no difference:
-startup
plugins\org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.0.101.R34x_v20081125.jar
-showsplash
org.eclipse.platform
--launcher.XXMaxPermSize
512m
-vmargs
-Xmx384m
-Xms40m
-Dosgi.framework.extensions=com.openedge.keybinding.hook
Does anyone have any advice as currently I can't do much useful work with Open Architect at the moment!?
Thankyou,
Saquib.
Hi Saquib,
In your installation do you have any additional plug-ins also installed apart from OE?
If yes then can you please try increasing -Xmx value.
eclipse -vmargs -Xmx
with the value set to greater than "384M" (384 megabytes -- the default).
Thanks,
Swathi.
Thanks for the reply. I tried adjusting the -vmargs according to these rules from the Oracle Java site:
-Xms6291456
-Xms6144k
-Xms6m
-Xmx83886080
-Xmx81920k
-Xmx80m
but there was little or no change and the Eclipse editor just gets progressively slower until it eventually becomes un-usable.
Thanks.
P.S. memory usage of the associated javaw.exe is up at around 138,000K if this helps.
