Context sensitive help - navigation keys?

Posted by Stefan Drissen on 06-Mar-2013 14:52

Using PDS 3.7 / 11.2 - when context senstive help is accessed (shift+F2) the page up, page down, cursor up, cursor down, end, home keys do not work. The mouse must be used.

Another minor annoyance is that the back button resets the previous page to the top of the previous page and not at the spot it was left - not fun when jumping thru the 100 attributes / methods of a browse widget.

Hi Stefan,

I have tried this in standalone eclipse environment and the same behaviror is observed there. I think it is a bug with eclipse.

As workaround for the second problem you can use the 'Backspace' (from keyboard) button instead of invoking through mouse when traversing among pages to keep track of previous page position.

Thanks and Regards,

Anil Kumar.

Hi Anil,

Thanks for the response - I noticed the eclipse behavior too - but it seems to be specific to certain help functions. If I go to help / help contents or use F1 - which both open a new help window the navigation keys do work. Am I correct in assuming that Eclipse issues are logged by Progress Development?

Thanks for the tip on using backspace - I thought I had tried this with the same results - but it works great.

Hi Stefan,

Yes. We (Progress team) report(s) any issues to Eclipse if we encounter during our development. For the current problem I have reported following issue in the Eclipse Bugzilla.

Thanks and Regards,
