I'd like to use READ-XML in my application to query an XML source from an external application (i.e. across the web), but I encounter a problem if that application is down for any reason. READ-XML just sits there waiting. Does anyone have experience with a timeout or other mechanism which will allow me to handle this error condition gracefully?
