.NET client without Appserver...

Hello,

We have a fat client based (no Appserver) application (9.1e).

I would like to experiment with .NET (C#) and write a sample UI that uses our business logic .p's.

Is this possible without an Appserver? I've skimmed the .NET Open Client Toolkit manual and have the feeling an Appserver is essential.

Thanks in advance.

.NET Open Client needs the ABL business logic to be on the AppServer.

You may want to check the Exchange 2007 (and PTWs) information regarding 'OpenEdge Advanced GUI', which will not.

Thank you Salvador.

I've seen the demo last year at the PTW in Athens and was very impressed (like everyone else in the room).

Is the (first) release of this technology still planned for 2008?

Lieven

The OpenEdge Advanced GUI is currently anticipated to be released in the second-half of FY2008.

It's also possible to use Sonic MQ. I suppose it would be possible to use any JMS system, but you're have to write your own tools similar to the SonicMQ adapter.
