Correct rpm package on RHEL 5 libstdc++.so.5 64 bit

I am having a lot of trouble with a new install of RH 5 64bit and the correct library rpm package that Progress needs. _progres is looking for libstdc++.so.5 to be installed in /usr/lib64 but the current rpm version places it in /usr/lib.

I've tried creating a symbolic link but that fails also. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Red Hat states the rpm package currently installed is the correct version and the default install directory cannot be changed.

The below listing is what is installed on my server:

proenv>rpm -qa | grep compat-libstdc

compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-61

THIS LISTING IS FROM a QAD SERVER:

proenv>rpm -qa | grep compat-libstdc

compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-47.3

compat-libstdc++-296-2.96-132.7.2

compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-47.3
