Hi,
Windows XP
I installed 10.2 this morning fine no problems, however my 10.1b03 progress explorer tool errors with Snap-in Failed to initialize. Name: CLSID:
10.2 Explorer Tool works fine, obviously 10.1b03 explorer tool was working fine prior to install of 10.2.
Anyone else got same problem?
Unfortunately I can't tell you, because the progress explorer does not work on 2008 server at all (10.1 or 10.2)
I think I have the same problem with 10.1C and Win XP SP3. When trying to start 10.1C PE I get the following error: MMC could not create the snap-in. 10.2A beta PE seems to works fine.
ok I guess we need to raise this as a bug. Shall I do this?
I had the same problem, reported it (W807250016) and received a .reg file to be loaded as an immediate solution. That worked, although all my defined machines were gone (where is that stored?).
I was not certain this had to do with installing 10.2, since I installed that on three machines and only one machine had the snap-in problem afterwards. Anyway it is good to see confirmed that this seems to be related to 10.2.
Thanks Peter - any chance you could email me the .reg file if you still have it? johng@proteussoftware.com.
Or attach it to this thread. I have the issue as well. And Salvador wouldn't need to ask his colleagues as well.

I open the microsoft management console in windowsXP prof., and add the progress explorer.
I get a error message "Progress explorer 9.1D CLSID; is not initiated".
When I open the progress explorer directly with the shortcut in the progress start menu "Progress Explorer Tool" it all works fine.
Does anyone recognizes this problem?
I ask this because I get the same CLSID error message but directly from the start menu with 9.1D and also with 10.2a in Windows Vista and there is no way (I know) to solve this problem.
I still owed you guys this file (it slipped my mind). It restores the settings for the OpenEdge Explorer 10.1C.
You won't need it anymore once you are on 10.1CSP3+ or 10.2ASP1+
