I used DevExpress tools a while back to develop a proof of concept for a customer (they wanted to to use DevExpress as they already had some in house skills & licenses on a non-Progress development team).. Can't say I had any issues with any of the controls, but it was all screen level (including a Ribbon bar)..
It was simply a matter of creating a Control Group in the Visual Designer and then adding the controls from the Global Assemblies tab..
