Can a form with DockManager be used as MDITab Child?

Posted by jquerijero on 19-May-2010 15:10

FACTS:
OE10.2B01

IG Controls Version: 9.2.20092.2058
MDITab parent already has DockManager
MDITab parent uses a Ribbon
MDITab child has a DockManager
MDITab child has a Ribbon set to Merge

The child form doesn't render correctly when added as MDITab child. Is this a limitation?

What do you mean with "not correctly"? Do you have a screenshot describing the issue?

I have a prototype with the exact combination and it works like expected. However I do not like the behavir because the Dockable Panes of the MDI child form are just dockable inside the MDI child form and can't be dragged to a pane group on the same level as Panes of the MDI parent.

This behavior is not surprising - but not useful at all for the end user.

My preference therefor is to (dynamically) create panes from the child form in the MDI parent form.
