Pool range - difference in behavior between 11.3 and 11.7

Hello,

We migrated recently from 11.3 to 11.7 and hav =e for bot the OE Workgroup RDBMS license.

For the webspeed we use a pool range of 6 agents (initial start, minimum and maximun)

For the appserver we use a pool range of 3 agents ( initial start, minimum and maximun ).

In the Openedge explorer in 11.3 you see the 6 agents at the webspeed broker and the 3 agents at the appserver broker.

In the Openedge explorer in 11.7 howver you see the 2 agents at the webspeed broker and the 2 agents at the appserver broker. I looked at the logfiles from webspeed, appserver, database, nameserver and adminserver. No error messages indicating that something is wrong.

It also looks right for the number of users/connection permitted(-n parameter).

In another environment we have a 11.7 Enterprise licence. There it works fine.

Is there a reason known why in a OE Workgroup RDMS environment only two (2) agents are starting, despite the pool range?

Kindly regards,

Hinko

Do a showcfg in 11.7 on the application server(s).  Confirm that you have OE AppServer Enterprise installed, not OE Development Server or OE AppServer Basic.  The latter two are limited to two agents per broker.

Thank you Rob for your reply.

We do not have OE AppServer Enterprise in 11.7.

In 11.3 We had a OE Application Svr Ent.

I will consult our people who bought the license.
