Database won't shut down

Why is it always me?! Don't answer that!

My DB was failing to spawn brokers earlier so I shut down everything that I could and then stopped the DB. Unfortunately the DB just won't shut down. It's been at

19:38:54: The database is still active.  Database shutdown is continuing.

for about 20 minutes now and nothing seems to be budging. I don't really want to do an emergency shut down do I? The only user connected is the RPLS user but the PID connected to that user is gone.

What's the last lines in the .lg file for the database? Is there disk activity?

I had the same experience with a call to PSC Tech Support yesterday. I told the support rep the next time I was developing, she'd have to be on the line to make sure PDS would behave itself. :)

Urgh I think I've found the problem. We had a disk failure on our replication target server earlier. It took out an insignificant drive. Looks like we may have other gremlins though. The replication target DB won't start. I wonder if the replication agent had tied itself up somehow due to the gremlins. Just what I need before Christmas.
