sir
In a daily activities what are the main monitoring activities that have to be done using promon pls list in details i am using 9.1d progress
I would suggest that one very important part of monitoring a database is ensuring it is on a version of Progress that is not obsolete and unsupported.
Progress database is perfectly taking care for itself and doesn't require any promon continuous monitoring to sustain it. If you need to monitor its "activities" for any other reasons (i.e. proactively watch its vital signs as a part of your business continuity policy), then you could come up with the list of promon activity screens, write a script and run it periodically.
Or, even better, you can upgrade and use OpenEdge Management as a more complete solution for your needs.
Do you consider (for example) the size of the BI file, long running transactions, locking conflicts, buffer cache hit ratio, table I/O, to all be 'vital signs'....??
