Is there a way to increase the output from idxcompact so I know what it's doing and how far along it it?
have you checked what promon shows for it. many of the database utilities have at least a little status information shown when you look at the list of connected processes. sorry but i don't recall which screen off the top of my head and don't have doc handy. it might not be what you are looking for either.
I was running it offline so no promon. The documentation says to monitor the _UserStatus VST if the DB is up and running.
