I have a variable length bi extent which can exceed upto 2gb.If i have a long running transaction which exceeds 2gb of bi extent what will happen? Whether the database transactions are suspended and database is shutdown? Consider the running transaction is highly important and cannot be aborted,What should i do alternatively to avoid database for shutting down and continuing the transaction ?

proutil -C EnableLargeFiles
My first inclination is to say that the problem is not the BI, but the code.
And, you can have a multi-volume BI even without large files.
