Rollbase vs. OE Mobile

Posted by Marko Myllymäki on 17-Jun-2013 06:25

Progress has acquired Rollbase (https://www.rollbase.com/), a cloud platform that allows rapid creation of software as a service (SaaS) business applications using point-and-click, drag-and-drop tools in a standard browser with a minimal amount of code. Rollbase can be deployed to any cloud or in-house infrastructure.

I wonder how this relates to OE Mobile (appery.io/Tiggzi)? I have only seen the demos in the Rollbase web site, and at first glance, Rollbase seems to be a competing platform/framework for appery.io.

Progress people: what does this mean to OE Mobile (and Arcade)?

Others: any experiences or thoughts on this?

Rollbase does have a mobile component but OE Mobile is far superior to what Rollbase offers. There is no roadmap yet, but we would likely stick with OE Mobile.

Arcade is still needed, for anyone still doing on premises development and wants cloud deployment.

Remember, the acquisition of Rollbase is an investment in OpenEdge.
