Install 32bit ODBC-Driver and 64bit ODBC-Driver on a Windows

Posted by xv13309 on 14-Jan-2015 05:11

Hi all,

our company deployment installed on my 64bit windows 7 notebook the Datadirect Greenplum 7.1 ODBC-Driver in 64bit. Now I determined, that there is no connection with any MS-Office Product like Excel or Access to the greenplum database possible. MS-Office products only supports 32-bit ODBC-Drivers.

Is it possible, to install both, 32-bit and 64-bit odbc-drivers on the same maschine, including security via truststore?

thanks for your answers.

regards georg

Hi Georg,

Yes it possible to have the 32 bit and 64 bit drivers installed on the same machine.

Make sure you install these in different folders.

To configure a 32bit datasource, you'll need to run the ODBC Administrator that is installed in : C:\Windows\SysWOW64.

The executable is named odbcad32.exe.

Kind regards,

Sven
