service callout extension

Hi,

The JAVA code written in a service callout extension  is deployed as JAR file in the webapps\axis\WEB-INF\lib directory. Each time I make any change in this java code, I have to restart the server so that new changes can come in effect. 

Please suggest if there any way to override that i.e. new changes in jar file become effective without restarting the server.

Archana,

In the current versions,  server restart  is required for the changes in SCO/Ext Op jar to take effect

In 5.6 we are adding the ability to bundle extensions with the EDS file. This will give you the ability to redeploy an EDS file (or deploy a new version of it) without the need to restart the server.
 
Will that address your needs?

Hi Jim,

It will be great to have this feature. I am not sure how a purchased license of 5.5.2 could be upgraded to 5.6.

If you are on maintenance, you’ll be able to upgrade when 5.6 is released.
