Table-lock or Record-lock with Corticon EDC 5.4.1.4 on SQLSe

Posted by Gertjan Hendriks on 16-Jul-2015 07:24

Hi folks,

A quick question: Does EDC in Corticon 5.4.1.4 lock an entire database table (for SQLSerber 2014) when reading and writing, or does it just lock the specific records it is using? As far as I have experienced in SQLServer 2008, it does lock the entire table. But I need to be 100% sure on this with SQLServer 2014 (64-bit).

Thanks in advance for your input!

Corticon EDC specifies the NONE for the hibernate lockmode, so no lock required.

SQL Server 2014 will be certified in either 5.5.1 or 5.5.2.

Hi Jan,

I assume SQLServer 2014 is supported in Corticon 5.5. If so, will EDC in 5.5 lock an entire table, or just a record?

Thank you,

Gertjan

Gertjan,

SQL Server 2014 is not a certified/supported platform for Corticon 5.4.x.x version.

A belated "Thank you", James! :)

Any info on an estimated releasedate for 5.5.1 or 5.5.2 yet?

Gertjan,

Corticon 5.5.1 is planned for September and 5.5.2 for EOY.  We have begun testing with SQLServer 2014. Assuming no major issues are found, it will be certified in 5.5.1.
