Has anyone managed to connect the Corticon designer to a MyS

Posted by David_J on 20-Feb-2015 08:54

I tried to connect the Corticon designer to a MySQL database, based on the instructions for EDC I found here (http://knowledgebase.progress.com/articles/Article/000028612).

I also tried adding these settings to the CcCommon.properties file in com.corticon.configuration_5.3.4.0.jar, but that results in errors when starting the designer. I heard that these errors don't occur in 5.3.4.1, but in both versions the dropdown database type selector does not show MySQL as an option after applying the settings and installing the jdbc driver in Windows.

I also hear MySQL is officially still unsupported, but I was hoping someone found out how to make it work and is willing to share the required settings here.

Thanks, David

If you connect Corticon to DataDirect Cloud (there's an option in the Vocabulary Database selection menu)

I think you can access MySQL - its one of the supported data sources.

You can sign up for DataDirectCloud here: http://www.rollbase.com

Hi David,

The knowledgebase article describes the process for MySQL JDBC driver property settings for Corticon Server 4.3. This does not apply for the 5.x versions.

5.x versions of Corticon EDC do not support MySQL.

The databases supported in v 5.3.x are listed in the page below:

Thank you,
