EDC connection to DB2

Posted by tbektemi on 13-Oct-2014 01:52

Dear Product Team and everyone,

There is a question regarding Corticon accessing DB2 Universal Database and DB2 UDB for iSeries using EDC.

Can you please confirm whether or not Corticon using EDC is able to connect to DB2 Universe Database and DB2 UDB for iSeries? If yes, can you please elaborate more?

Currently I see from “Progress Corticon 5.4 - Supported Platforms Matrix” link (https://community.progress.com/community_groups/corticon/w/brms/2267.progress-corticon-5-4-supported-platforms-matrix.aspx) EDC supports IBM DB2 10.2 and 9.5 versions only.

Details:
Database: DB2 Universal Database for iSeries and DB2 UDB for iSeries.
OS version:  Version V7R1M0 and Version V6R1M0, Licensed Program 5770SS1

Thank you and look forward to hearing you.

Regards,
Talgat

Corticon bundles the DataDirect Connect driver for DB2.  It supports DB2 on *NIX, Linux, Windows, iSeries, and AS/400. The DataDirect support matrix for drivers is available at:

Thanks James for your reply.

I believe support of EDC for iSeries and AS/400 is not out of the box, right? What should be done from our side to make it available in Corticon 5.4? How long will it take?

Regards,
Talgat

It should be in the box. Corticon bundles the Connect DB2 driver which supports iSeries. It should work as is.
