What is the difference between .startall production and proserve
If the question is to know difference between database starting using dbman -start and proserve commands.

proserve is a batch/shell script which is used to start OpenEdge database.
.startall is a shell script and "production" is its parameter, but that would be my guess. It is your machine and your script. if you don't know what it does, ask someone who put it there.
